About

Excelerator Password is a Mac utility for people who regularly work with password-protected Excel files. Add supported .xlsx, .xlsm, and legacy .xls workbooks and Excelerator determines whether each file needs to be locked, unlocked, or modernized. Different actions can be processed together in one batch. Client passwords can be stored securely in macOS Keychain, and workbook processing happens locally on your Mac without requiring Microsoft Excel to be opened.

I built Excelerator Password because I was dealing with this exact problem myself. I regularly had Excel workbooks that needed to be locked or unlocked with the same client passwords, and doing them one at a time got old fast. What started as a small utility for my own workflow became my first Mac app. With 2.0, the goal was to make the whole process simpler: add your supported workbooks, let Excelerator determine what each file needs, review the actions, and process them together. If you regularly work with password-protected Excel files, I'd love to hear what you think.
